WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
Screen printing t-shirts is cool but for many, all the set up involved to be able to screen print puts it beyond reach. Well, we’re here to fix that for you. We provide EVERYTHING! A purpose built T-shirt Screen Printing Studio in Marrickville, in the heart of Sydney’s Inner West, where you can bring friends or family and each one of you has everything at your finger tips to print your very own custom t-shirt. Our instructor will take you through the whole process as a group and within 2 hours have you printing like a pro!

So join us in our relaxed factory studio and over the 2 hour class we’ll cover the basics of screen printing a t-shirt and get you confidently printing your very own custom t-shirt to take home as a keep sake. No experience necessary, just a mindset to try something new, have some fun and set your creativity free!
INTRODUCTORY CLASS
T-shirt Screen Print Basics Class – 1 x AS Colour t-shirt included – $89
Some say our introductory classes are just parties disguised as classes! Who knows, maybe that’s true. What we do know is at the Factory X Project learning is relaxed and fun, how it should be. No pressure here, just do what feels right, let that creativity flow and express yourself. The 2 and a half hour introductory course covers the following,
THE CLASS COVERS
A basic overview of the entire t-shirt screen print process including:
Art Prep – An introduction to art prep (digital & manual), with a little visit back in time to how it was done prior to the digital revolution
Film positives – What they are used for, why are they positives not negatives, and how to set them up to expose your screen. In the class we print out the film to be used to expose the screen for your custom design
Screens – We’ll discuss the various options available and how to choose which best suits your needs
Screen exposure & prep – In the class each participant will expose one of our screens with your own custom design and prepare it for printing
Ink types – We cover the various ink types available and the Pros and Cons of using each type. You then choose the ink and colour you want to use for your print
Squeegee types – We cover the handle and rubber types available and how to choose
Printing technique – We show you print technique and how to achieve a sharp, consistent print without getting ink all over you : )
Practice – Each participant will have the use of their own personal print station, squeegee and accessories to practice print technique on test panels and when you feel confident enough to print your own t-shirt, you will!
PRINT YOUR OWN CUSTOM T-SHIRT – on an Premium AS Colour 5001 Staple or 4001 Maple t-shirt (included in your course fee), you’ll print your own custom 1 colour print on your t-shirt to take with you at the end of the course

A print out of your custom design as a film positive you can take with you
Class use of one of our pre-coated and dried screens you will expose with your design and print with
Class use of one of our USA engineered and imported ‘State of the Art’ single station 1 Colour print stations
A Premium AS Colour 5001 Staple or 4001 Maple t-shirt to print your design on
A relaxed and fun vibe to set your creativity free!

PARTY BOOKINGS
Parties are fun! T-shirt screen print parties are funner! Our regular classes can handle up to 12 people at a time, with each person able to print their own design if they want. Great idea to kick off a Hens Night, Bucks Night, or for a group of friends to do something different together. Our booking system is easy. When booking, the group oraniser simply clicks the ‘Bringing anyone with you?’ button and chooses up to 11 people to add to their booking. For parties of more than 12 people to discuss options please contact us through the Contact Us page.
NEED SOMETHING MORE ADVANCED?
Advertised in this site is our T-shirt Screen Printing Basics Class available to the general public as a fun creative experience. For those that want to take it a step further to multi-colour printing, automatic machine screen printing, or are thinking of setting up a screen printing business, our head trainer Kenneth Swan has been printing for more that 35 years. Starting out as a hand printer in his garage, in his 35+ year career, he is responsible for overseeing the printing of more than 20 million t-shirts into the Australian market. He knows a thing or two about the process and a few hours spent with him could save you months of trial and error.
